Celebrating the European Day of Languages

European Day of Languages 26th September 2015

At the initiative of the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, the European Day of Languages has been celebrated every year since 2001 on 26 September. They want to make us aware of the importance of knowing different languages and how they promote understanding among different people and cultures. This year, they are focusing on how languages coexisting at schools determine the future of our students. " Education and success depends on a good command of languages. Every child shoud be given the chance to succeed.", as Ms Markovic explains in the official message for the day.

 SLOGANS FOR THE DAY

The Students of 4ESO of our School  prepared a series of slogans which define what languages mean to them. Here are some.

"Share your language and your smile everyday"

"  Imparare, piu lingue piu si gode "

"Languages, an endless way to communicate"

"Even if they are spoken by few people, languages shouldn't lose their identity"

"Knowing the language is knowing how to live."

"Languages give you oportunities, give you futute."
